October 2011
October 4th, 2011 – 6th Grade Teva Trip (Day 3)
The sixth grade left for Teva on October 3rd with science teacher chaperone, Andrea Barnett and parent chaperone, Scott Seidman.
Today (October 4th)
Following Tefilah and Breakfast, the students began a day of outdoor activities. They hiked and explored with students from the other five day schools sharing the week at Teva with us. Every student seemed to be engaged and enjoying the experience, hands-on, authentic learning in the areas of environmental science, ecology and the Jewish values which speak to these disciplines. It is also a very important experience in communal living, working collaboratively and cooperatively, great life lessons.
Check out some great photos from the trip!
October 11th, 2011 – Highland Park Trip
The Fifth Grade, led by their teachers Morot Sari Keren and Marissa Bullock, made their annual pilgrimage to Highland Park (see photo above) to assemble and purchase Etrog and Lulav sets for our community. We brought home close to fifty sets and in the process learned how to construct the relatively complex Lulav, made up of three different species.
