What is New At Schechter
Courtesy of the Gruss Foundation, 22 new computers with courseware are being used to teach math and language arts in grades one through five. The Foundation also provides supervisory liaisons from its education department as well as an on-site lab manager.
A math and science program for grades six through eight, which was developed by top researchers in Israel, has recently been implemented. Students who participate in the program are eligible to participate in an international science and math challenge held via video hook-up.
Our new computer lab is used to teach early reading and math skills to our kindergarten students. Large, touch sensitive smartboards that are attached to computers have been added to our library and several classrooms.
We are in the process of designing and building a brand new state of the art science lab, also courtesy of the Gruss Foundation. It is targeted to be completed by the end of the 2007/2008 school year.
