Tribute Funds

Three of our most important programs are Scholarship, Special Needs and Teacher Retention. Our goal is to create endowments to support these programs and we encourage donors to make designated gifts. Naming opportunities are available.

  • Scholarship
At SSDSRV, we make every effort to provide some level of tuition assistance to every child whose family requires it. In order to continue to provide this type of assistance, the school must seek financial support from outside contributors. A gift of $18,000 would pay for the average tuition assistance to four families or could be added to an endowment fund whereby the income would be used for scholarships.
  • Special Needs / Hillel Program
At SSDSRV, our Hillel Program provides resources for children with special needs, be they remedial or higher level instruction. These services are offered at no extra charge and are provided directly to one-third of the student body. A gift of $100,000 would pay for software, scanners, reading boards, writing boards, individualized learning centers and writing programs in both English and Hebrew. At that level, the Hillel Program could be named after the donor. Smaller gifts may be made through the Paul Hayes Fund of SSDSRV.
  • Teacher/Staff Retention
Jewish Day Schools compete with public schools in recruiting and retaining the most talented educational professionals. However, public schools, by and large, are able to offer significantly higher salaries and better benefits. A gift of $18,000 to our Teachers’ First Fund would be pooled with other donations in an endowment whose income would be used to enhance teacher benefits.
